Training Services

We have variety of services available that are designed to support and guide you as you embark on your training journey. Whether you are just starting out or well on your way, we are here to provide you with the resources and assistance you need to succeed.

Due to the rural nature of our area, any sessions scheduled further than 10 miles from Kenai or Soldotna City limits will occur a $.75 per mile travel fee.

Consultation

Private Training with The Balanced Canine starts with an Initial Consultation. This session is discussion-based and gives us the chance to gather information about your dog, your concerns, and your goals. Getting as much information as possible helps us provide ideas and strategies that are going to be a good fit for you, your family, your lifestyle, and your dog. After your Initial Consultation, you're not left hanging; I'll recommend the best Training Program for your goals and help you navigate the options available to you!

Consult fee will be invoiced prior to scheduled time and is non refundable.

Clients who book sessions after the initial consult will receive a partial credit of $50 towards their training package.

Consultation with Session

Private Training with The Balanced Canine starts with an Initial Consultation; this session is discussion-based and gives us the chance to gather information about your dog, your concerns, and your goals. Getting as much information as possible helps us provide ideas and strategies that are going to be a good fit for you, your family, your lifestyle, and your dog. With our Consult and Session service, we make a plan, and then do a 60 minute session so that everyone can see and feel some relief right now! A summary of your session after the fact, so you have some materials to reference and look back on, too! With some breathing room from the problems you're experiencing, teaching and learning new things becomes a lot easier for everyone!

Consult fee will be invoiced prior to scheduled time and is non refundable.

Clients who book sessions after the initial consult will receive a partial credit of $50 towards their training package.

Puppy Head Start

This Training Program was designed specifically for puppies 8 weeks to 20 weeks - one of the most crucial and best times to begin training with your puppy! This program focuses on key puppy skills and provides an introduction to basic dog manners to help your puppy become a happy, comfortable, and confident member of society! This Training Program includes:

* Six (6) hour long sessions, including the socialization field trips.

* Two (2) socialization field trips - mini sessions are held outside your home (a park, a trail, etc.) to practice socialization and put skills we've learned to the test out "on the road."

* All the Basic commands: Sit, Down, Stay, Leave It, Loose Leash Walking, Recall.

* Socialization training and checklist.

* Detailed handouts and instruction.

This service is $650

Intro to Training

This program is, by far, the most popular that I offer and is mostly for dogs with no, very little, or unknown training experience! This program was designed to give you and your dog a solid introduction to the basics of dog manners. This Training Program includes:

* Five (5) hour long sessions, including the field trip

* One field trip - mini session are held outside your home (a park, a trail, etc.) to practice the skills we've learned "on the road."

* All the Basic commands: Sit, Down, Stay, Leave It, Loose Leash Walking, Recall, Place, Settle, Greeting Manners.

* Detailed handouts and instruction.

This service is $650

Have multiple dogs? For each additional dog needing training, we add 30 minutes to our sessions and $325 to the total.

Tailored Training

Our personalized dog training program is designed to help you achieve specific goals. We will work with you to create a Training Plan that is tailored to your dog's personality and your lifestyle. This Training Program includes:

*One or Two day-a-week sessions, depending on customer preference. These can be in home or in public spaces.

* Completely Tailored Training Plan created to help work towards a specific goal or goals.

*Detailed handouts and instruction.

This service is $150 per session or our Tailored Program is $750 for 5 once-a-week sessions or $1100 for 5 twice-a-week sessions.

Have multiple dogs? For each additional dog needing training, we add 30 minutes to our sessions and $425 to the total ($700 for 2x a week).

Public Access Training

Designed for Emotional Support and Service Dogs, we will help train your dog to be well-behaved and mindful in public spaces. Our program provides tools and guidance to ensure your dog can assist you without causing disruptions. This Program is also beneficial for anyone who wants a dog with great Out and About manners.

This Service is $125 per session

Reactivity Re-Training

We prioritize establishing a solid training foundation and addressing triggers when working with reactive dogs. Our training program utilizes effective techniques to redirect your dog's behavior and establish positive associations with potential triggers. We work closely with you and your dog to ensure consistency between the handler and the dog, while reducing reactivity.

This program foundation is 5 weeks. Follow up sessions to work on practical application of skills are also available.

This service is $850. Follow up sessions are $150 per session.

Purposeful Walks

Purposeful Walks are a dog walking service that prioritize the physical and mental well-being of your dog. Our structured walks provide the exercise and mental stimulation for your dog while working on their overall obedience training.

These walks are sold on a punch card basis and are $300 for ten (10) 30-minute walks.

Stay and Train Program

This program is perfect for owners who need a little more help, or those with dogs that need more one on one time. This program was designed to give you and your dog a great start into consistent obedience. This Training Program includes:

* 2 in-home sessions to get dog and owner going on training.

* 2 week training camp with our instructor which includes multiple mini training sessions daily and outings in public to proof behaviors.

* 3 follow-up sessions to ensure that the training is staying consistent.

* Detailed handouts and instruction.

This service is $1,800 and availability is very limited.
